Networking with others like you

In the Piedmont Triad, JDRF is providing opportunities for our supporters to meet and exchange notes with others who have a similar connection to type 1 diabetes.

Thanks to the efforts of Cathy Sink, a mom of two kids with type 1, families in the Triad have gotten together for several events:

• A Swim Party at the Thomasville YMCA
• Glow-in-the-Dark Putt-Putt at Four Seasons Town Centre
• A Picnic at Lake Thom-A-Lex Park
• A Back-to-School Family Social at Carousel Skating Center

Because Adults with type 1 like to compare notes as much as families do, JDRF Outreach Chair Leslie Hertwig is coordinating regular events for our Adults. Over the years, these socials have taken place in various restaurants in Winston-Salem and Greensboro.
